Safety Rules and Penalties
Authorities stress safety for cyclists and e-scooter users. Riders must wear helmets and reflective vests, have bright front lights and red back lights on bicycles, and ensure brakes work.
Breaking safety rules leads to fines:

- Dh200 for not meeting Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) technical rules.
- Dh200 for carrying passengers without proper equipment or helmet and vest rules.
- Dh300 for carrying a passenger on an electric scooter.
Stay safe and always follow the rules to avoid such tragic events.
