Dubai’s Population Soars: Record Growth in 2024
Dubai has achieved its highest population increase since 2018, with over 169,000 new residents in 2024, reaching a total population of 3.825 million. The number of expatriates flocking to the emirate continues to rise, reflecting the city’s growing appeal.
According to the Dubai Statistics Centre, the population growth trend is notable. In 2023, Dubai’s population grew by more than 104,000, and in 2022 by 71,500. In previous years, 2021 saw a growth of 67,000, 2019 expanded by over 162,000, and 2018 by over 215,000.
In September 2024, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, announced a new population census. This initiative aims to provide real-time data on Dubai’s residents, offering deeper insights into the emirate’s demographic makeup.
