Exciting News for Pakistani Travelers!

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced great news for Pakistani tourists. Pakistani citizens are now eligible to apply for a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, as announced by the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi.

This major update was shared during a meeting between Ambassador Zaabi and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s House. Speaking about the matter, Ambassador Zaabi confirmed, “Visa issues have been resolved; Pakistanis can get a five-year visa,” as stated in an official press release.

Visa Challenges and Developments in Recent Months

Pakistani travelers have faced increasing challenges when applying for UAE visas in recent months. There had been stricter measures introduced due to concerns over misuse of visit visas and criminal activities like begging. In December, a Senate panel revealed that all Pakistani visitors traveling to the UAE had to undergo police verification. Travel agents were also instructed to implement strict vetting processes.

Despite these hurdles, a positive shift has taken place. In January, the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis clarified that there were no official bans or restrictions on work visas for Pakistanis. Although tighter visa rules were in place, the committee reassured that Pakistani workers were not barred from seeking opportunities in the UAE.

Details About the UAE Visa Process

To apply for the UAE five-year tourist visa, Pakistani nationals must meet specific requirements. These include:

  • Round-trip tickets: Applicants must provide proof of their travel plans.
  • Accommodation proof: Hotel bookings or other arrangements for their stay must be submitted.
  • Financial stability verification: Proof of property ownership (if applicable) and a security deposit of AED 3,000 are required.
  • Pre-approval document: A pre-approved visa document from an authorized travel agent is necessary for completing the application.
  • Police verification: Applicants must undergo police verification as part of the process.
  • Biometric verification: Individuals aged five years and older must complete biometric verification at the visa center.

The UAE Embassy has also introduced specific guidelines for minors. For example, children under five years old do not need to visit the visa center, while those aged six to fifteen will have their photos taken at the center.

These measures aim to streamline the visa application process while ensuring security and compliance with UAE immigration policies.
